LEEDS FESTIVAL WAS ENJOYED BY OVER 500 RESIDENTS

Once again the village enjoyed a fabulous festival and this year the weather was much kinder to us and remained mostly dry and some sunshine. Thank you to all residents for your positive feedback about the weekend.

The weekend guest tickets at a discounted price of £42 to include access to the festival guest area for entertainment and camping and shuttle bus is a real privilege. The village of Bramham is most grateful to Melvin Benn from Festival Republic for providing us with the tickets and Bramham Parish Council for the organisation.

As a result of the ticket sales the village raises in the region of £25k that is put into a Community Fund. This fund is chaired by Nick and Rachel Lane Fox who together with a committee allocate the funds to village projects.

Nick Lane Fox is to be invited to the October Parish Council meeting to talk about how these community funds are shared amongst community groups. All residents are welcome to come along. More details to follow.

Here’s to many more years of the festival coming to Bramham!

Bramham Park Circular Walk

Alison Mackie

A new circular walk around the grounds of Bramham Park opened last year. This was a project led by Councillor Martin Batt and completed with the help of Nick Lane Fox from Bramham Park and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Please click below to download a detailled description of the walk and maps to show you round the route:

The route takes you around trails and paths through the park, through stiles and across fields so heavy walking boots are required.

We hope you enjoy exploring the park and seeing all the wonderful wildlife

Bramham Park 10km and 5km Fun Run Sunday 6th October

Alison Mackie

Calling serious athletes, casual joggers, dog walkers and anyone who enjoys a Sunday morning stroll in God’s own country, the 15th Bramham Park Fun Run is now open. Applications from teams from local businesses are particularly encouraged.

The event is open to all, from the most serious runners, to people who just want a stroll in the park.  The start is at 10:30am on Sunday 6th October on the main drive of Bramham Park outside the Hall. There are two routes: 10km, which is very challenging, and 5km for casual joggers and walkers. Both routes use paths entirely within the park and offer beautiful surroundings and views.  Participants have returned to the event year on year and brought their friends and family.

Last year 486 people entered and raised nearly £7,600 for Cancer Research UK Again this year the money raised will be supporting the research conducted in St James Hospital, Leeds by Professor Alan Melcher into using common viruses to destroy cancer cells.

The event is yet again being sponsored by local estate agents, Beadnall Copley, and, as before they are covering all the set up costs.  This means that all the money raised by participants will go directly to help Cancer Research UK.

The entry fees are £8 for adults, £4.50 for children and £19.50 for families (maximum 4 people). Registration and sponsorship forms can be obtained by contacting:

Ann Newton   Tel: 01937 841470
