Together we can build a Dementia Friendly Community ...

To All Bramham Village Groups, organisations and residents

Over two million people are expected to develop dementia in the next ten years, so most people will know someone living with or affected by the condition in their lifetime.

Bramham Parish Council are planning to run a series of 45 minute sessions aimed at giving you an insight into the disease and helping you understand what it is like to live with dementia, and what you can do to help. The sessions will be run by a volunteer Dementia Friends Champion, will be free, fun and interactive, and open to all. Special events can be organised for specific groups or organisations if there’s sufficient interest, and can be tailored to suit schoolchildren. All participants become a 'Dementia Friend' and receive a badge and action card.

We hope to involve as many residents, organisations and businesses from Bramham as possible, so please do encourage others to join in. The dates and times will be confirmed and announced later this summer.

Together we can build a Dementia Friendly Community in Bramham and make a difference by raising awareness of this disease and making Bramham a safe and reassuring place for those living with dementia as well as their carers, families and friends.

Please register your interest in attending these sessions by replying to this email or contacting me directly by text or Whatsapp. If any organisations would like us to organise a dedicated session then do let me know.

Just 45 minutes of your time can make a difference and be life changing for some.
