Leeds Directory is available to all online...
Locating care organisations that meet individual care needs can be a challenge. This challenge can be even greater for older people, those living with a disability, or a health condition.
Similarly, finding a reliable tradesman to assist with jobs in the home can present its own difficulties, due to concerns over trustworthiness.
The Leeds Directory promotes independence, with users encouraged to rate tradesmen and care organisations that they have used. Firms included within the Directory must adhere to a code of practice and are vetted and checked to ensure that those using it, receive a reliable, safe and trustworthy service.
The Leeds Directory is funded by Leeds City Council and is managed by Care & Repair Leeds, which is an independent Home Improvement Agency with Charitable Status providing services to support independent living for older people as well as disabled adults and children.
Exciting new improvements to the website have focused on making it easier to search for services and to find the locations of events.
On the Directory, can be found over 1,700 organisations, including tradesmen such as handypersons and gardeners, as well as providers of services for wellbeing support and advocacy. Users can easily locate vetted providers of personal care, which are marked with a ‘green tick’, as well as tradesmen.
Care & Repair Leeds works alongside West Yorkshire Trading Standards and Safer Leeds to tackle doorstep crime and bogus callers and ensures that service providers, sign-up to a code of good practice.
